• The App isn't filtering my messages?

  SMS Filter needs to be enabled as a Message Filter before iOS will hand messages to it. Go to Settings → Messages → Unknown & Spam and make sure SMS Filter is turned on. If it's already on, try turning it off and back on, or restarting your device.

• App is not working / crashing?

  Try restarting your device and reinstalling the App.

• A legitimate message ended up in Junk/Promotions, or a spam message ended up in my Inbox?

  Filtering is automated and not perfect. You can create a personal rule (allow or block a specific sender or word) from the Rules screen so the same message is handled correctly next time. Please also review the Junk and Promotions tabs periodically so nothing important is missed — see our Privacy Policy for our full disclaimer on filtering accuracy.

• The blacklist / filter seems out of date?

  SMS Filter syncs its shared spam pattern list automatically in the background and whenever you open the App. If you suspect it's stale, simply open the App to trigger a refresh.

• Purchase or Premium issues?

  Make sure you're signed in with the correct Apple ID, then use Restore Purchase inside the App. You can also check your subscription status under Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, or your purchase history in the App Store app.

• Delete my data

  SMS Filter does not upload or store the content of your text messages — filtering happens entirely on your device. Deleting the App removes all local app data from your device. For deletion requests related to the anonymous rule-feedback log or push notification token described in our Privacy Policy, contact us at [email protected].

• I'm worried about a phone number or link inside a message — is that SMS Filter's responsibility?

  No. SMS Filter only sorts messages into folders; it does not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for phone numbers, links, or other content inside a message, and it has no effect on phone calls. See our Terms of Use for details.
